A single strand of 9mm amber beads, hand-strung and matched for size before stringing so the colour carries evenly from clasp to clasp.
The colour runs warm honey to deep cognac, sometimes cloudy with inclusions. Amber is fossilised tree resin rather than a mineral — it is warm to the touch and noticeably light in the hand. Trapped bubbles and plant fragments are entirely possible.
Beads are polished individually, then checked for size and finish before stringing. Slight differences in tone, translucency and internal texture are normal in natural stone and are part of what distinguishes it from synthetic material.
Baltic amber has been traded since the Neolithic. Because it is organic rather than stone, it is softer and deserves a little more care.
Amber is organic rather than mineral, tens of millions of years in the making, and in traditional lore that age is the whole point. It is warm to the touch and remarkably light, which makes it comfortable in a way stone beads are not.
A single clean line on its own, or layered with shorter chains when you want more depth.
Amber is softer than stone: wipe it with a soft dry cloth, keep it away from perfumes, solvents and prolonged heat, and store it separately so harder pieces cannot scratch it.
Traditional meanings and colour associations are offered for interest and for the pleasure of the story only. Each piece is natural stone, sold as jewellery, and no claim of any kind is made about its effect on the wearer.
