Strung by hand in 5mm aquamarine beads chosen to sit evenly together — consistent in size, close in tone, and finished so the line of the strand stays clean.
The colour runs pale sea-foam blue through to deeper teal. A member of the beryl family. Larger pieces tend to hold the stronger blue, and fine material is eye-clean with a glassy clarity that shows the polish well.
Beads are polished individually, then checked for size and finish before stringing. Slight differences in tone, translucency and internal texture are normal in natural stone and are part of what distinguishes it from synthetic material.
The name comes from the Latin for seawater. Travellers carried aquamarine through the Roman and medieval periods, and it is the traditional birthstone for March.
In traditional lore aquamarine belongs to the sea and to the people who cross it — a stone given before a journey. The colour does the rest of the work: a pale, clean blue that flatters almost every skin tone and reads as composed rather than loud.
Strong enough to wear alone, quiet enough to layer under a collar or over knitwear.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear and store away from prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve the colour. Avoid contact with perfumes, chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners.
The cultural associations described above come from traditional lore, folk custom and personal sentiment. This is a natural mineral piece sold as jewellery, and nothing here is intended as a medical or therapeutic claim.
