Strung by hand in tourmaline beads and finished on a stretch cord, this bracelet is built to be worn rather than kept in a box.
Colour-wise, this material sits at a wide range of colours, sometimes several in one crystal. Tourmaline forms in more colours than almost any other gem species, and it is not unusual for a single crystal to show two or more at once.
The polish is smooth and even, with no filler or surface coating. Cut from natural stone, each bead carries its own slight variation in tone and internal texture — inherent to the material rather than a defect.
The name comes from the Sinhalese toramalli, meaning ‘mixed stones’ — a reference to the mixed parcels of colour that came out of the earliest finds.
Tourmaline occurs in more colours than almost any other gem species, and in crystal tradition that variety is itself the meaning — a stone of mixed moods held together in one piece.
Wear it on its own or stacked against contrasting strands — it sits well beside both lighter and darker tones. It is light enough for all-day wear.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear and store away from prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve the colour. Avoid contact with perfumes, chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners.
Traditional meanings and colour associations are offered for interest and for the pleasure of the story only. Each piece is natural stone, sold as jewellery, and no claim of any kind is made about its effect on the wearer.
